In media club, we're currently working on our HIKI NO interview on Mr. Barayuga. It's in the progress of being edited to pefection. It's almost there ;)
Also, we're working on our fabulous t-shirt design. Our designer Ethan is doing a great job so far. And finally, we're working on a project for Mr. Weida. Students are recording several videos demonstrating stretching exercises that can be used in class . - Shaleia Aquino Mr. Weida came to share with us a new project idea of creating a school digital/video resource for stretching techniques to help get kids pumped and awake during our block schedule! We're definitely excited to work on this and committed to meeting additional days to help get this started. We're still working on editing our Hiki No video, but there were a few of us who had band practice, so we'll probably pick up again after Spring Break. We decided to try and meet on Thursdays to pick up our pace. Mrs. Tolentino found out that t-shirts are going to be expensive. We decided instead of fronting the expense, we'd do iron on shirts. We don't mind, it'll be more fun to decorate it a little differently! So, we haven't met for awhile--or at least kept records for awhile. Hiki No has done great work getting 3 student interviews and having to re-do Mr. Barayuga's interviews a number of times...1. because he wasn't looking into the camera, 2. because we didn't get a "rule of thirds" shot, 3. because the sound in the background drowned out his speaking...and we might have to shoot a 4th time because he looks really tired in this recent shot. We'll see what the Hiki No people say.
Noah and Alexia are doing great with the video plans. They have chosen their songs, marked out a map of shooting locations, identified actors/clubs that'd participate, and planned out via lyrics the different scenes that must be shot. Coming back from break, students are planning on approaching teachers and students for potential commitments for rehearsal and shooting dates the month of April. We're hoping to shoot in May. Crossing fingers! Keep up the good work Media Club!!! Had a great break, but back in business! Our logo is ready to go, and we're in the works looking for a tshirt company to make our shirts. Good job to our graphic art designer Ethan and his team in making a great design!! Let's cross fingers that we get what we're looking for!
Okay, so we learned how to use the lavalier mic last week as we're ready to shoot! We took a few shots of the dance team performing at our Winter Fair.
Others were busy manning our Media club booth! We made a total of $20. So, Mrs. Tolentino broke even with her donation! Alright... :) Haha, at least we had fun and it was part of our leadership learning experience! Mrs. Tolentino is super proud of her Hiki No chair, Valerie Pena and her team. They've created a calendar and divided the team up into several different roles. Everyone knows their part and agreed to commit to their role in making the video happen. Above all, Valerie has shown her leadership capacity in taking responsibility and guiding her team to complete the tasks needed for the video to be its best.
Ideas are flowing for a Winter Fair fundraising idea: digital games! Students decided to make games on powerpoint: guess that Christmas song. Students play for $0.50 to get a chance to guess. Mrs. Tolentino donated $20 in prizes and students donated stuffed animals as prizes for those students who win and guess all the songs! It wasn't easy coming up with a feasible idea, but we did! |
